Founded in 1959 by and for the community, the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham is a permanent charitable endowment to drive positive change. We welcome partnerships with individuals, families and businesses who want to be part of improving the life of the Birmingham region. People can leverage their charitable gifts or guide their estate planning through the Community Foundation.
We focus all our work on a Results Framework, using strategies that we support in partnership with nonprofits across Greater Birmingham. Recent initiatives and collaborations include the Health Action Partnership, Prize2theFuture, Yes We Can! Birmingham, leading to the Birmingham Education Foundation, and tornado recovery.
53 Pratt City house build puts staff & donors to work
Community Foundation staff and donors came together to help rebuild a home destroyed by 2011 tornadoes, adding muscle power to the monetary donations that are helping survivors across our state. These “Working Together” days provided a glimpse of the long-road ahead for Pratt City and other neighborhoods.
