Gillian Goodrich new chair of board of directors
Gillian Goodrich is our Board Chair for 2012. She takes over from Bill Smith, who has been chair of the Community Foundation board of directors since 2010 and now continues as a board member.
Gillian brings a lot of experience to her role, as past president of the Junior League of Birmingham and board chair for the YWCA. She also served as chair of the Grant Review and Evaluation Committee for the Community Foundation, facing the hard choices about how best to invest our community’s gifts in achieving the Results we all want for the Birmingham region.
We also added three new Board members: Jay Grinney, president, CEO and Director of HealthSouth Corporation; Kathryn Miree, president and primary consultant for Kathryn W. Miree & Associates and a nationally recognized speaker and author on nonprofit gift planning and administration, and Ray Watts, senior vice president for medicine at UAB and Dean of the School of Medicine at UAB.
Eddie Friend and Don Logan end their terms in 2012 and will stay connected to the Community Foundation in other ways. Continuing on the Board are Neal Berte, Corbin Day, John Floyd, Kathryn Harbert, Ronne Hess, Robert Holmes, Eddie Miller, Ruffner Page, Larry Thornton, Cameron Vowell, Lloyd Wilson and Dee Woodham.
