The mission of the Central Six Development Council, Region 4 of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development is to create a 21st Century workforce that is proactive, responsive, and results driven; supports the region’s diverse population and employers; and provides quality job opportunities in support of a vibrant regional economy. We are the premier regional leader connecting business and industry with education to develop tomorrow’s diverse workforce.
With assistance from the Alabama Governor’s Office of Workforce Development and the alabama Department of Post-Secondary Education/The Alabama community College System, the Central Six Development Council aims to provide funding for Dual Enrollment programs (in conjunction with area 2-year colleges) for students in K-12 schools in the region, Incumbent Worker Training, and assistance with Warren Act affected companies. Workforce development and economic development depend on one another. Thanks to an aggressive recruitment strategy, Alabama has a diversified industrial base that brings with it quality jobs. Our goal is to develop programs that will accommodate current and future training needs.
