Community Catalyst Funds

Community Catalyst Funds are philanthropic venture funds that allow the Community Foundation and its donors to do big things to transform the greater Birmingham community.

These funds have helped to make trans-formative projects like Birmingham Lights possible. Donors may establish a Community Catalyst Fund with a minimum gift of $50,000.

Community Catalyst Fund benefits:
  • Choose a name for your fund that recognizes your commitment to transformational change forever.
  • Gain access to special events, reports and previews, based on your preferred level of involvement.
  • Be part of determining future transformational investments.
  • Gain maximum tax benefits.
  • Take advantage of special options for Catalyst Funds that include perpetual endowment 10-year payout or immediate use, or entire gift to Community Catalyst Funds or up to 50 percent set aside for another fund with a focus on local needs.

You can also establish or add to a Community Catalyst Fund using a gift through your will or estate plan.
