The steel industry built Birmingham’s past.  Today, a $1 million gift from U. S. Steel is working to secure its future, through a grantmaking fund at The Community Foundation set up to benefit the Freshwater Land Trust. 

For years to come, this gift will support recreational facilities along protected waterways like Turkey Creek.  It’s a gift that will keep on giving while it grows as part of the endowment of The Community Foundation.

This is just one way that businesses use The Community Foundation to meet the community’s greatest needs, including charitable funds and employee giving programs.
