The cake was great and so is our future Since 1959, your community foundation has transformed private giving into public good -- seeding parks, enriching education, expanding arts and more. This work involves the support of so many individuals, families, businesses who see the Community Foundation as the best way to make their charitable giving count.
Our annual meeting in 2009 set the stage with a high-energy video, courtesy of Mark Five Productions, that hit the high points of the first 50 years. Another video shared the inspiring words of our youngest citizens as they told us what they magine for the next 50 years. Our featured speaker, Rebecca Ryan of Next Generation Consulting, completed the picture with her own look at future trends, many of which she shared in a later "Viewpoint" piece for The Birmingham News.
In 2010, we continue our work of transforming the community and we continue celebrating our anniversary year. Join us!
-- Join visionary leaders who are sharing their dreams and their gifts to create transformational change through Community Catalyst Funds. This is a new tool for donors who want to make sure that their gifts are targeted on high-impact initiatives and projects that have the power to transform this community (in addition to our regular twice-a-year Community Fund grantmaking).
-- Tell us what you imagine for our community on our Imagine blog, where you can see what others imagine and share your own vision for a brighter future. What things should never change? What is your wildest hope? Share it with us. Or click here for a quick look at some video imaginings and a way to share your ideas with others.
-- Sign up to receive weekly e-bulletins on 50 Ways to Love Your Community. We're sharing the latest and greatest reasons to love this place we call home, and giving us all something to brag about.
