Privacy Statement
This website is owned and operated by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham. Our intention is to inform and educate visitors about our work as a grantmaker, community resource and philanthropic partner to local nonprofits, individuals, families and corporations. We are committed to honoring the privacy of all those we work with, including visitors to our website and subscribers to our electronic newsletters.

Personal Information
Your right to privacy is very important to us. We recognize that providing the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham with your personal information is an act of trust. When you visit us, unless you voluntarily provide personally identifying information to us (such as an email address), you remain anonymous, as we do not require registration to view our website or access information.

We may occasionally ask for your feedback via surveys or other communications to better understand your interests and needs. We may also request information to register you for a foundation event. The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham does not share, loan, rent or sell or make public any personal information gathered through our website. 

Public Information
Under IRS Code, the following foundation documents are public information:

  • IRS Forms 990 and affiliated schedules for the past three years.
  • Exemption letter from the IRS.

Lists of our donors or names of funds, other than those published in the annual report with their permission, are not available to the public. Fund holders may give us permission to name them and/or their fund name when a grant is made from their fund. The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham does not reveal the name of anonymous donors to the recipient of a grant.

Cookies and Log Files

We also collect non-personally identifiable information through cookies and log files when you access our Site. If you give us your e-mail address, for example when you sign up for our E-Newsletter, we may send e-mails, newsletters, and other publications and announcements to you from time to time. Please note that any electronic communication made between you and us, including through the website, may not be secure.  If at any time you wish to stop receiving the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham’s electronic newsletters or other communications, or to be removed from our email list, you may unsubscribe from that list as explained in each message. The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham will not give your email addresses to other organizations; however, we may occasionally send you mailings regarding events, products or services by reputable third parties if we think they may be of interest to you. In such circumstances, we do not provide the organization with your information, but send the mailing ourselves.

“Do Not Track” Technology
Please note that this website does not support “Do Not Track” browser settings and does not currently participate in any “Do Not Track” frameworks that would allow us to respond to signals or other mechanisms from you regarding the collection of your personal or non-personally identifiable information.

We may revise this policy at any time by posting a new privacy policy on our website. Please check this website periodically for changes. Your continued use of this website after we post a revised policy signifies your agreement to the revised privacy policy.
