Past Grants & Initiatives

The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham continues to work to make children successful along the education pipeline. Seed funding, advocacy, partnerships and on-going involvement with projects and initiatives include:

  • Birmingham Education Foundation, which began as Yes We Can! Birmingham, a grassroots initiative of the Community Foundation, and continues as an important partner in the effort to improve Birmingham City Schools.
  • Alabama School Readiness Alliance, an organization created in part by the Community Foundation, continues to advocate for the importance of voluntary, high quality pre-K sites in Alabama.
