Past Grants & Initiatives

The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham continues its efforts to make it possible for people to lead healthy lives. Seed funding, advocacy, partnerships and on-going involvement with projects and initiatives include:

  • Health Action Partnership, an initiative of the Jefferson County Department of Health for which the Community Foundation has led advocacy efforts and through which the Community Foundation continues to focus grants and initiatives to leverage millions of dollars in additional funding.
  • Three Parks Initiative, a successful fundraising effort to support the creation of Railroad Park and Red Mountain Park and improvements at Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve, sparked by a $1 million seed grant from the Community Foundation.
