Emily Jones Rushing

Emily Jones Rushing became the first Communications Officer in 2000 and was named Director of Communications and Marketing in 2006.  She has been active in the community foundation field, serving on the steering committee for CommA, an organization of communications professionals. 

A graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C., she received its Distinguished Service Award in 1985 and has served on the Alumnae Board and as chair of the Board of Visitors. She received her M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She is a member of the Metro Board for the Birmingham YMCA and the Advisory Board for the Forest Park Neighborhood.  She is a member of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Friends of Red Mountain Park.
